Stanley No. 113 Circular Plane
A plane with a springy steel sole that bends to a convex or concave curve, set by a knob on top. For fairing the inside and outside of curved work: wheel rims, table aprons, coopered doors.

How to identify it
- A thin flexible steel strip forms the sole, arched between two anchor points and set by a large knurled adjusting wheel.
- Nickel plating on the frame, usually flaking.
- 1-3/4 inch iron.
Buying and using
Check the flexible sole for cracks and for kinks at the anchor points, and make sure the adjusting mechanism moves. A seized or cracked sole is the common fault and is not practically repairable.
